THOMAS H. GENOBLE

Tommy’s grandfather began Holcombe Funeral Home of Union in 1949; after 72 years, it is still owned and operated by the family today. Tommy has been a funeral director for over 30 years. He graduated from Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta in 1986.

MARY PACOLETTE GENOBLE

Licensed Funeral Director, FD-4229

Mary Pacolette is a former elementary school teacher and high school guidance counselor. She holds a Master’s degree from Winthrop and is now a licensed funeral director. The Genobles have four children.

LARRY SKIPPER, Preneed Counselor

Larry is a licensed funeral director in both North and South Carolina.

TIM PLUMMER

Certified Crematory Operator

Tim joined the Eggers family on opening day, January 2, 1996. Tim is a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and Spartanburg Methodist College. He is married to the former Rita Elliott, and they have one son, Matthew. They are members of Inman Mills Baptist Church, where Tim serves as a deacon and is active with the RA’s.

CAROL HAWKINS

Carol is a graduate of The Plains High School and attended Southern Ohio Business College. She married her husband, Greg, in 1969 and moved to North Carolina in 1972. Carol worked as a bookkeeper, secretary, office manager, and director of the EMS, as well as working with Cliffside Florist and Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. She traveled as Greg's secretary for a number of years and, for the past eight years, worked with Don Harrill Company, Inc.

Kathy is originally from Asheville, North Carolina. She married her husband, James (Jim) Sproles, originally from Boiling Springs, in 2021 and moved to the Spartanburg area. She is the mother of five grown children and the Mimi of four wonderful granddaughters. Kathy comes to us with many years of business administrative and management experience.

DODIE ALVERSON

Funeral Service Assistant - Unlicensed

Dodie joined the Eggers family in July 2011. She was married to the late Joe Lee Alverson II, and they were the former owners of Alverson's Accounting Firm in Chesnee. Dodie is a member of Arrowwood Baptist Church.

Former Owner, Licensed Funeral Director

John B. Eggers, our beloved co-founder, passed away on April 15, 2016. John was an active member of the Piedmont Group of the SC Funeral Directors Association, having served as Chairman and also serving on the SC State Board of Funeral Service. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association. He also served as a past president and was a member of the Boiling Springs Business Association, the Boiling Springs Masonic Lodge #413, the Boiling Springs Eastern Star, a board member at Limestone College in Gaffney, and a past president and member of the Boiling Springs Lions Club and the Green Point Baptist Church.

IN MEMORY - BETTY R. EGGERS

Former Owner, Licensed Funeral Director

Betty was the former owner of Eggers Funeral Homes. She passed away on August 28th, 2021. She was a native of Watauga County, NC, and was a licensed South Carolina funeral director. She graduated from Spartanburg Methodist College with an Associate of Arts degree. She was a member of the Piedmont Group of the SC Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, the Boiling Springs Business Association, the Boiling Springs Order of the Eastern Star, and Green Point Baptist Church.

IN MEMORY - NANCY C. SPROLES

Former Funeral Director

Nancy sadly passed away in the fall of 2021. Nancy joined the Eggers family on opening day, January 2, 1996, as a South Carolina-licensed funeral director. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she is a graduate of Spartanburg Junior College with an Associate degree in Secretarial Science. She is a member of the Piedmont Group of the SC Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Nancy is an active member of the Boiling Springs Order of the Eastern Star, having served in various positions over the past 40 years. She resides in the Boiling Springs community and is an active member of Inman Mills Baptist Church. Nancy has two sons and two granddaughters.

IN MEMORY- JANICE MOFFITT

Administrative Assistant (Chesnee) - Unlicensed

Jan joined the Eggers family in 2005. A native of Spartanburg County, she graduated from Dorman High School and attended Spartanburg Technical College. She lived in Chesnee and has one daughter, Kayren Swofford, a son-in-law, Matthew, and four grandchildren. Jan was a member of Eden Wesleyan Church, where she served as pianist. She also served as treasurer for the Chesnee Area Merchants Association. Her interests included playing piano, traveling, and singing with her family in a gospel trio, The Master’s Singers. Her late husband, Frank Moffitt, ran Eggers Crematory for many years until his death in December 2018.

Roy sadly passed away in October of 2020.

In Memory - PHOEBE DAVIS

Funeral Service Musician

Phoebe sadly passed away in February of 2022. Phoebe joined the Eggers family in November 2007 to provide families with the ministry of music during the services. She is a native of Spartanburg, attended Furman University, and is a graduate of Palmer College. She was an administrative assistant with Southern Electric and Spartanburg Area Mental Health. She has served as organist for Arcadia First Baptist Church for many years. Her son is a 3 Star General who serves proudly in the US Air Force, and her daughter is a special education teacher. Phoebe has two grandchildren and enjoys entertaining her family, refinishing furniture, and reading.
