Zaneta "Celeste" Macleod

Zaneta "Celeste" MacLeod, 73, of Boiling Springs, SC, wife of Leonard MacLeod, passed away on Thursday, June 5th at Wesley Court Assisted Living.

Born in Jacksonville, North Carolina to the late Joel N. Jones and Bonnie L. Tillson, Celeste lived a life full of creativity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones.

She was married for 50 years to the love of her life, Leonard MacLeod. The two tied the knot in true adventurous spirit, in Las Vegas. Going on to build a beautiful life together grounded in love and laughter. They went on to own and operate their own computer consulting company "MacLeod Computer Consulting Inc." going strong for over 25 years and counting. Celeste had the greenest thumb around. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing soul, full of life and color; from vibrant flowers to blueberries and squash. She grew and sold over 30 varieties of orchids and took great pride in her ever-growing garden, often guiding Leonard to drive around her various planting spots when mowing.

A fierce animal lover, Celeste always had a special place in her heart for cats and dogs. Fred, one of her many beloved cats, held a particular spot despite her many scratches. To her family and community, Celeste was a mother to all. Whether you were hurting or just hungry, her door was always open. Her fried chicken was legendary, especially according to her son. If you needed a meal or a moment of comfort, Celeste had both ready with open arms and a warm heart.

Her creativity knew no bounds. She played the piano, painted, knitted, and created stunning quilts that were as comforting as they were beautiful. Music was a constant companion in her life, with Elvis Presley and Rod Stewart being among her all-time favorites. Above all, her grandchildren were the light of her life. She adored them deeply and made sure they always felt loved, cherished, and supported.

Celestes father was her hero.  His presence shaped her both subtlety and profoundly. He never told her what kind of woman to become, he showed her by how he treated others and how he lived his life, that kindness and strength were not opposites.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Alycyn Angeline MacLeod Herron.

Celeste is survived by her husband, Leonard MacLeod, son Shawn A. MacLeod (Stephanie), brother Joel R. Jones (Harriet) niece, Mollie Jones, son in law, Jason Herron, grandchildren; Alex J. Herron, Jessiah J. Herron, and Aiden M. Herron.

The family will hold a Celebration of life for Celeste on Saturday, June 21st in Inman Presbyterian Church with Pastor Beth Hoskins Officiating. They will receive friends following the service.
