Willie Lee Davis

Willie Lee Davis surrounded by his loving family, peacefully left this life on July 15th, 2025. He was born on November 15, 1951, to the late Joe Davis and Naomi Jackson Davis in Jacksonville, FL. He was amongst 7 total siblings and the youngest son. Willie married Vicki Virella in 1975 and would have celebrated his 50th year anniversary this October.

Willie truly loved his family! He was an engaging father and loving husband. His family was his favorite part of life. No matter how busy he was, he always had time to listen to others and/or lend a helping hand. Willie would spend hours on the phone with his family, going down the line calling him from his sons, to daughters, on down to his grandkids. On most occasions the lineup would also include extended family, and friends as well. Listening became his full-time role in his family, and he loved it. He was extremely proud of his children and would talk for hours to his 11 grandkids. Willie was the rock of his family when wisdom was needed. His loving guidance often soothed stressful situations and made everyone feel special and unconditionally loved.

He was an avid online poker player and would often talk about all the fake internet coins he made during his online tournaments. Willie also loved fishing, and although he didn't fish much in his later years, he would go to the local lake and speak to strangers about what they were catching. His warm personality often led to fishing stories and newfound friendships.

Anyone that knew Willie knew he was passionate about music diversity and Hi-Fi stereo equipment. Whether it was Otis Redding, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix or his favorite Folk artist Rhiannon Giddens. He often kept several pairs of headphones to assess each name brand's acoustic qualities. From JBL to Beats, he knew the latest model and could tell you which headphones sounded the best.

He leaves his wife Vicki Davis, sons, Dwayne Davis, and Joe Davis (Latisha); daughters. Diana Fox (Willis), and Angela Bennett (Jabbar); grandchildren, Justis, Jaela, Jacinda, Yulissa, Julian, Yadira, Maxwell, Jaeyha, Joey Jr, Joseph III, and Storie; brothers Joe Davis (Carol), Ernest "Earl" Davis; sisters, Vanessa Davis, and Jennifer Brown Pitts, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends to cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents Willie was preceded in death by his sisters, Emma Ford and Louise Hart.

Willie Davis was a remarkable husband, father, and grandfather. He will surely be missed by all that knew him.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 19, 2025 , from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Eggers Funeral Home in Boiling Springs.
