William "Dale" Godwin

William "Dale" Godwin, 62 of Chesnee, SC, passed away March 28, 2025, at his residence. Born June 20, 1962, in Germany, he was the son of the late Clifford Franklin Baird and Jean Vernette Parris Baird and was the beloved husband of Mary Maxine Henderson Godwin. He was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family who will miss him so much.

Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife are one son, Jesse (Amanda) Henderson; grandchildren, Alexia, Vesemir, Athena, and Nugget; one brother, Ricky (Lynn) Lindsey; two sisters, Teresa Knox, and Sherry Lanier; and twelve nieces and nephews, Mikey, Jack, Spencer, Avery, Luna, Gracie, Donna, Sabrina, Melissa, Connor, Jeany, and Crystal (Flossie) Byrne. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew Donnie Greer.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Eggers Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesnee, SC. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tim Worthy officiating. A burial will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens.

The pallbearers will be Joshua Tippitt, Keith Pruitt, Cody Blankenship, Noah Greer, Dwayne Emery, and Tommy.
