William Caroll Bishop

William Caroll Bishop, 64, of Fingerville, SC went home to be with the Lord after prolonged health issues.

Caroll is survived by his children: W. Chad Bishop (Crystal), and Elizabeth Cafasso (George); grandchildren: Cody Bishop, Tyler Bishop, Tyson Bishop, and Whitney Bishop; great-grandson: Sayden Bishop; mother: Jeanette H. Wright; siblings: Melvin D. Bishop, Dale J. Bishop, and Christine B. Horton; and close uncles: Billy Bishop and Monte Hinton.

He was preceded in death by his father W. Ernest Bishop, and grandparents: William "Bill" M. & Mary Elizabeth "Lizzy" Bishop.

Caroll was formerly a maintenance supervisor at InsulFab Plastics in Spartanburg until health issues intervened. He had a strong work ethic and love for cars that began before he turned 10 while pumping gas and working on cars at the local gas station.

Throughout his life, Caroll could be found at various racetracks supporting family and friends in their racing endeavors. Occasionally, he would take a trip down the track at Shadyside Dragway just for fun. He enjoyed local car & bike shows and would generously donate his monetary prizes to the sponsored charity. His stories were filled with fond memories of poker runs and bike trips to various locations as he never missed an opportunity to ride his Harley with family or friends. Of late, he enjoyed looking for a good deal at the local auction and hanging out with his beloved uncles.

Caroll will be remembered as a devoted ally with a playful child-like spirit, yet a bit of a loner. A man that loved his family and friends, yet often from afar. An endearing, yet complicated soul. He supported various Christian organizations, including the 700 Club and The Light FM. He was a patriotic supporter of the military and first responders. Caroll was a God-fearing man who looked to the Word for forgiveness, guidance, and comfort until the day the Lord called him home. May he forever bask in the warm embrace of peace and love of his one true Father.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs at 6:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Terry Candler officiating.
