Wade Edward Coggins

Wade Edward Coggins, 87, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Born on June 7, 1938, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Alline Johnson Coggins and Henry Edward Coggins. Ed was member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church and the Ready Men's Sunday School Class. He retired from Union Camp after 44 years of dedicated service and then went on to work for twenty years with Spartanburg School District 2 as the mail courier. He was fondly known as Mr. Ed to many in the community but was Pop to his grandchildren and many others.  Ed enjoyed mowing his own lawn, working in his yard, and gardening.  Golfing with his buddies was a favorite pastime.  Ed had a servant's heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Mike Coggins (Kim), Joy Lancaster (Burt), and Stephen Coggins (Jan); sister, Kay Williams (Glenn); grandsons, Landon Lancaster (Shelby), Andrew Coggins (Lindsey), Bradley Lancaster (Savannah), Zac Coggins (Megan); granddaughters, Cameron Coggins, and Carson Coggins; and great-grandchildren, Reagan Lancaster, Charlotte Lancaster, and Jackson Coggins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of nearly 60 years, Brenda Ballenger Coggins.

A funeral service to celebrate Ed's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 28,2025, at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Hank Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs.

Pallbearers will be Landon Lancaster, Andrew Coggins, Bradley Lancaster, Zac Coggins, Jerry Cash, and Chase Cash. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Ready Men's Sunday School Class and are asked to sit in a group.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.
