Virtie Owens Littlejohn

Virtie Owens Littlejohn, 82, of Chesnee, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was born in Cherokee county on December 29, 1941 to the late Jeulia Blackwell Owens and Roy Cline Owens.

Mrs. Littlejohn was a dedicated Christian and a member of Piedmont Baptist Church. She was a former member of Chesnee Community Fire Department and Rescue 7, and served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary, where she was a member for over 40 years.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, Doc Littlejohn, Jr., and a sister, Ophelia Pruitt.

In addition to her parents, Jeulia and Roy, she was predeceased by a sister, Syble Durham; and brothers, Raymond Owens and Harlie Thompson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee, with the Rev. Larry Fleming, Rev. Buddy Robbins, and Dr. Rhyan Ashcroft officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM, one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Piedmont Baptist Church following the service, with Chaplain Matthew Scruggs officiating the committal.

Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be Chesnee Community Fire Department and past members of Rescue 7.
