Tom J. Brissey

Tom has left this earth to go to his final destination - heaven.  He passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born December 2, 1945, in Pickens, South Carolina, Tom was a son of the late Truman Brissey and Georgia Marcus Brissey.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in the military police field for four years. He earned his Associate Degree in Engineering and retired from BMW. Following retirement, he also worked part-time with SmileMakers, Inc.

A man who truly enjoyed the outdoors, Tom loved hunting and fishing and was a proud member of the Ridge Runner Hunt Club.

He leaves behind his wife of fifty-one years, Penny Hyatt Brissey, as well as three children; Dedra B. Thurmond of Olathe, Kansas, Tom Brissey, Jr. also of Olathe, Kansas, and Heather B. May (Peter) of Inman, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; and his beloved cat, Peanut.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Eula Holden, and his brother, Kenneth Brissey.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in the Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Boiling Springs, officiated by Pastor Mike Shackelford.

The family will receive friends following the service.
