Thelma Fowler Creamer

Thelma Fowler Creamer, age 93, of Chesnee, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Born July 22, 1932, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ed Fowler and Exie Voston Hood Fowler. Thelma was a graduate of Cecil's Business College and worked in retail sales for many years. She was a faithful and devoted member of Cooley Springs Baptist Church, where she lovingly served as a Sunday School teacher working with eight- and nine-year-olds for over 60 years. She also was a teacher for GA's, Acteens, Training Union, and Vacation Bible School, and was known to many as a guiding influence that led them to Christ. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and traveling with her late husband.  She was like a second mother to her eight siblings and dearly loved her nieces and nephews and their families.

Surviving are her sisters, Betty Lawter (Bobby), Vickie Tucker (Wayne), and Carol Barbrey (Donny); brother-in-law, Leland Roach; along with 15 nieces and nephews, 32 great-nieces and nephews, and 10 great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Creamer; sisters, Lillian Brown (Charles), Peggy Roach, and Ann Holcombe (Paul); and brothers, Eugene Fowler (Joan) and Ryan Fowler (Martha).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at Cooley Springs Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. David Deland. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Cooksey, Trey Morrow, Andrew Ponder, Brad Fowler, Brian Roach, and Cole Emory.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece, Debbie Massey, for the loving care she provided over the last three years of her life, and to SC House Calls and Hospice Care for their support during her final weeks.
