Sylvia "Lougene" Jolley Darby

Sylvia "Lougene" Jolley Darby, 85, of Chesnee, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2025. She was born February 27, 1939, to the late Wilbert Jolley and Ruth Elizabeth Cash Jolley.

Mrs. Darby was a lifelong member of Piedmont Baptist Church and also served on the Ladies Auxiliary with Chesnee Community Fire Department and Rescue 7. She was a loving wife and mother, and a caregiver for others. She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers, camping in Pigeon Forge, and cooking for her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elizabth D. Pierce (Scott); brother, M. Dupree Jolley; niece, Denise J. Arrington (Craig); and nephew, Ken Jones (Lesa); as well as several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roger D. Darby; infant sister, Martha Jolley; and sisters-in-law, Emily G. Jolley and Gail Jones.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Piedmont Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Rhyan Ashcraft, Rev. Larry Fleming, and Rev. Ken Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM at the church,
one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chase Arrington, Zach Arrington, Butch Genoble, and Horace Pettit.
