Serita Jane Simpson

Serita Jane Simpson, age 61 of Shelby, NC, formerly of Cherryville, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Peak Resources in Shelby, NC. She was born June 8, 1962 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Ralph Simpson and the late Kathryn Hicks Simpson. Serita had previously worked in retail management. She was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville, NC and was a devout Christian who loved Jesus and helping others.

Serita is survived by her loving nephew Travis Simpson and his girlfriend Krista, her favorite aunt Jerri Packard, her uncle Glenn Hicks and his wife Vicki, a cousin Donna Hamrick.

In addition to her parents, Serita was preceded in death by her brother Tim Simpson and her sister Joan Guin.

A celebration of life service for Serita, conducted by the family, will take place at 3:00pm Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville, NC with Pastor Jack Calloway officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation are suggested to Oak Grove Baptist Church at 445 Tot Dellinger Rd. Cherryville, NC 28021. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
