Sandra Lynne Cheek Cash

Sandra Lynne Cheek Cash, died on September 3, 2025, in Landrum, SC.

Sandra was born on January 20, 1960, in Memphis, TN, a daughter of the late Dr. William Seton Cheek, Sr. and Leah Sue Kirby Cheek.  She was the granddaughter of Leon Clarence Cheek and Jessie Mae Williams Cheek, and Foy Parrish Kirby and Clara Roberta Cash Kirby, all of Chapel Hill, NC.

Sandra was raised in Spartanburg, SC, attended school in Spartanburg, graduated Brenau Academy, in Gainesville, GA in 1978, and also attended Brenau College in Gainesville. She was a debutante in 1978 with the Magnolia Debutante Club of Spartanburg. Sandra was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church and lived and worked all of her life in Spartanburg.

On May 30, 1980, she married the love of her life, Winfred Ashley Cash of Chesnee, SC and they were married for 40 years until his death on December 25, 2020.

Left to grieve are her sister, Carol K. Fruit of Chapel Hill, NC,  and her brother, William Seton Cheek, Jr. of Matthews, NC; nephews, Roy Fruit Sheehan and his husband, Michael, and  James Fruit, and his wife, Kayanne, and their children, Kaydence, Katana, and Robert Star; nephew, Will Cheek;  niece, Sydney Cheek; sister-in-law, Melanie Cash McKinney, and her husband, Bill; niece, Courtney McKinney – Whitaker and her husband, Stephen, and their children, Verity Grace, and Gilbert; nephew, Brandon McKinney, and his wife, Faith, and their children, Creighton, and Bailor.

Sandra and Ashley will be remembered in a quiet graveside service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Springhill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee, SC, with Rev. Susan Rogers officiating.
