Obituary for Samuel "Sam" Hodge

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sam Hodge, who left this world peacefully on August 19, 2025 at the age of 66. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Sam was born on March 10, 1959 in Spartanburg, SC where he grew up surrounded by family and friends. He later married the love of his life, Susan Hodge, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Together, they built a life of love, faith, and hard work, raising a family that was always at the center of his heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Hodge; his children, Jason Hodge and Jan Hodge Brose; and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Emma, and Levi, who brought immense joy into his life. He is also survived by his mother, Linda Blackwood: and his brother, Steve Hodge. He was pre-deceased by his father, Dwain Hodge: and his brother, Scott Hodge.

Sam was known for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering work ethic. His faith and devotion to the Lord and his family were the foundations he built his life on.

A funeral service to honor Sam's life will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Arrowwood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tyler Kirby officiating. Visitation will be at 2:00PM, one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man who gave so much of himself to others.
