Sally Lucille Munday Roland

Mrs. Sally Lucille Munday Roland, age 88, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Mrs. Roland was born March 13, 1935, in Taylorsville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Robert A. Munday and Beulah Sarah Jane Childers Munday. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved the Lord and used her talents of playing the piano and singing in the choir to bring Him glory.  She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church and was known as a prayer warrior and one who always encouraged others.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jayne Roland Rice, and her husband, Dalane, and Donna Marie Shields, and her husband, Randy; sons, Bobby Delane Roland, Richard Lavon Roland, and Ernest Clay Roland; grandchildren, Stephen Shields, Hannah S. Dixon, Katie Pearson, Daniel Roland, Christian Rice, and Ciara Roland; great grandchildren, Bella, Andrew, Sarah, Abigail "Abbi" and Edward "Eddie" Shields, Zachary and Alaina Dixon, and Haven and Jax Pearson; and sister-in-law, Edith Munday.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bobby Richard Roland; son, Verlynn Rae Roland; sister, Joann Johnson; brothers, Bobby Munday, Maurice Munday, Leonard Munday, Benny Munday, and Kenneth Munday; and great grandson, Tyler Scott Dixon.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Gateway Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Davy Shelton, Rev. Tim Ramsey, and son-in-law, Rev. Randy Shields.

Pallbearers will be Delane Roland, Dalane Rice, Christian Rice, Stephen Shields, Andrew Shields, David Dixon, Jerry Vick, Pastor Robert Jarvis, Marty Widenhouse, and Ian McAbee.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, one-hour prior to the service at the church.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at West Lawn Memorial Park, 1350 South Main Street, China Grove, NC 28023.
