Ruth Gilbert Bailey

Ruth Gilbert Bailey, 94, of Mooresboro, NC passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Ms. Bailey was born on November 18, 1928 in Spartanburg, SC to the late John Gilbert and Mattie Cantrell Gilbert.

Ruth is survived by brothers, Woodrow Gilbert and Carroll Ried Gilbert (Betty); and goddaughter, Joan Ruppe Tomczuk; as well as a niece and four nephews.

In addition to her parents, John and Mattie Gilbert, she was predeceased by sisters, Pearl Waddell, and Daisy Fowler.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee with the Rev. Tripp Biggerstaff and Rev. David Statton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
