Rose Gettys Spurlin

Bostic- Rose Gettys Spurlin, 81, died peacefully the evening of Monday, February 18, 2019 at Hospice House in Forest City. She was born April 10, 1937 to the late Embry Gettys and Rosie Stockton Gettys.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ned Lyton Spurlin and one sister Marjorie Gettys.

Others left to celebrate her life include on son Michael Spurlin and wife Donna, one daughter Debra Spurlin Mitchell and husband Tony, two brothers Frank Gettys and Gerald Gettys. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Ryan Spurlin and wife Kaley, Rebecca Tuttle and husband Clint, Jessica Cook and husband Stephen and Victoria Nanney; great-grandchildren Liam, Levi, and Alexis Rose Cook, Kayla and Sam Tuttle.

Our mother was a woman of faith. She shared her love for God with everyone she met. Our family fondly remembers all she did for us. She will be greatly missed, but left us with many precious memories.

Family and friends of Mrs. Spurlin are cordially invited to her visitation at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside February 20, 2019 from 6-8pm. Her funeral service will be Thursday at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church 301 Deviney St, Spindale, NC 28160 at 3pm with Rev. Leon Brown and Rev. Henry Montgomery officiating the service. A service of committal will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery in Boiling Springs, NC.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills PO Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
