Ronald Edward Gay

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Edward Gay, affectionately known as Ronnie, who departed this world on July 14, 2026 at the age of 63. Ronnie is now with the Lord in which he accepted as his savior on July 12, 2026. Born on June 18, 1963, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Ronnie brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He faced his final days with the same strength and courage that characterized his remarkable life, leaving us peacefully after a valiant battle with liver failure.

Ronnie was the cherished son of the late Rupert Thomas Gay and Barbara Corn Gay. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Thomas "Scooter" Gay, and his sister, Patricia Ann Gay, whose memories he held close to his heart. Ronnie is survived by his loving children, Brandon Gay (Tabitha), Dustin Gay (Tiffany), Dylan Gay (Eddi), Joshua Gay (Aladdin), Alexis Gay (Ke'zavion), and Pamela Gay (Lane), all of whom reside in Gaffney, SC. His legacy continues through his precious grandchildren, Dakoda, Ryder, Rory, Ayden, Kensleigh Gay, and a sweet new baby on the way.

Ronnie's siblings, Stephen Gay of Union, SC; Jodie Gay (Donna) of Pacolet, SC; Robert Gay (Tracy) of Greer, SC; and Jessie Cooksey (Frank) of Spartanburg, SC, along with numerous nieces and nephews, remember him as a pillar of strength, guidance, and unwavering love. Also leaving behind a friend that he trusted with all their conversations and admired so very much Donna H. Gay.

An alumnus of Spartan High School, Ronnie dedicated over 20 years of his career to TNS Mills before furthering his professional journey at Tietex for an additional decade. His colleagues remember him as a hardworking and dependable team member who always brought a smile to the workplace.

Ronnie cherished the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid fisherman, relishing the peace and tranquility found by the water's edge. He was delighted to spend time with friends and family, spinning tales that left all in stitches, and he had a particular fondness for wrestling and movies. Christmas films held a special place in his heart, bringing him closer to cherished memories of his mother.

Above all, Ronnie was a man of profound compassion and generosity. He never hesitated to offer a helping hand, a kind word, or a well-timed joke to lift the spirits of those around him. To his children, he was a devoted father, tirelessly proud of their accomplishments and unwavering in his support. To his siblings and nephews, he was a guiding light and a father figure. To friends and strangers alike, he was a beacon of warmth and acceptance, turning acquaintances into lifelong friends.
