Robert Edward Wyatt

Robert "Rob" Wyatt, born September 20, 1947, a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, great‑grandfather, and United States Navy veteran, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 3, 2026.

As Rob begins his next journey, his family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited in heaven with his beloved daughter, Tonya, along with his mother and dear friends taken far too soon. Those who knew Rob understood how deeply Tonya lived in his heart, and it brings great peace to know they are together again.

Rob honorably served his country in the United States Navy from September 27, 1966, until January 16, 1969, during the Vietnam War. He served aboard the USS Hornet (CVS‑12) with the rating of Ship's Serviceman Third Class (SH3). Rob was immensely proud of his role in the historic recovery missions of Apollo 11 and Apollo 12, helping bring America's astronauts safely home after their missions to the moon. His naval service exemplified the Navy's guiding principles of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, values that shaped his life long after his service ended.

Following his military service, Rob built a successful career in textile manufacturing. After retiring, he discovered a new passion and purpose as a barbershop owner. His shop was far more than a business; it was a place of conversation, connection, and community. Rob took great pride in his craft and the relationships formed through his chair. One of the most meaningful aspects of his legacy is that this passion became a family tradition, with Tonya, Jacqueline, and Kara proudly following in his footsteps.

Rob shared 53 years of marriage with the love of his life, Pat Wyatt. Their marriage stood as a testament to devotion, perseverance, friendship, and unwavering love. Pat remains surrounded by the legacy of a life beautifully lived together.

Rob was the proud father of three, grandfather of seven, and great‑grandfather to one—roles he cherished deeply.

He is survived by his children:

Wayne Wilson, married to Crystal Dial Wilson, and their son Bryce Wilson, is one of Rob's seven treasured grandchildren.
Tonya Wyatt, who preceded him in death and was forever a light in his life. Her love lives on through her three children, Lilybeth Bartkowiak, Wyatt Bartkowiak, and Jacqueline Smith and her spouse, Jeremy Graham, are the parents of Stella Sage. Rob's beloved great‑granddaughter, who brought him endless joy and held the title of "Papa's favorite."
Trey Wyatt, who proudly followed in his father's footsteps by joining the United States Navy in 1995. Trey is married to Jennifer Wyatt, and they have three children: Drew, Kara, and Evan Wyatt.

Beyond his immediate family, Rob was blessed with friendships that felt like family. Sheree Turner is a constant source of love, strength, and laughter to the family. Sheree and her husband, Rodney, were steadfast and supportive friends whose kindness knew no bounds. They faithfully transported Rob and Pat to medical appointments and offered countless acts of care and compassion that will always be remembered with profound gratitude. Pete Alley, was often referred to as the third son.

Rob will be remembered for living the Navy's core values—Honor, Courage, and Commitment—which defined his character, guided his actions, and were reflected in his wit and humor, steadfast loyalty, and unwavering love for his family, country, and community; but he had no greater LOVE than the LOVE He had for his Savior and his Family.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Good Shepherd Memorial Park with Rev. Kevin Harrison officiating.

Pallbearers will be Trey Wyatt, Wyatt Bartkowiak, Bryce Wilson, Wayne Wilson, and Jeremy Graham.
