Robert Eric Howard

Robert Eric "Robbie" Howard, 62, of Landrum, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2026.

Born in Columbus, North Carolina, Robert was a son of Bobby and Diane Howard. He was raised in Cowpens, South Carolina, and proudly served six years in the Army National Guard. He worked for Benson Automotive before starting and operating his own landscaping business.

Robert loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, trips to the beach, and cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks. He especially loved caring for his chickens and pets and spending time with his family.

Robert was known for his kindness, quick wit, caring heart, and willingness to help others. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and never met a stranger.

A devoted father, proud Papa, loving son, brother, and friend, Robert touched many lives through the love he shared.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Erin Whitworth (David); grandsons, Ryan and Cameron Whitworth; his mother, Diane Howard; brother, Christopher Howard; sister, Cynthia Johnson (Bill); nephew, Will Johnson; niece, Madison Johnson; and his best friend and the love of his life, Terri Proctor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Howard; grandparents, Alvin and Victoria Howard; and sister-in-law, Linda Howard.

Robert will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
