Richard Caldwell Humphries

Richard Caldwell Humphries, age 91 of Chesnee, SC, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at his home. He was born May 26, 1933 in Spartanburg County, SC to the late Caldwell Humphries and the late Evenes Price Humpries. Richard was the widower of the late Shirley Wilson Humphries. He was a US Army veteran and a hard worker who loved to farm. Richard never met a stranger and will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Richard is survived by his children; Richard L. Humphries and Susan H. Benfield and her husband Billy, grandchildren; Logan Humphries and his wife Kari, Brittany Stoudemire and her husband Ryan, great grandchildren; Naomie Humphries and Kanyn Humphries and a special aunt Alice Price.

In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by his brother John E. Humphries, his daughter- in- law Sandy Humphries and his grandson, Jamyn Humphries.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Springhill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee, SC with Reverend Brandon Morris officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 48 Honor Guard. Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee is serving the family.
