Raymond Lee Watts Sr.

Raymond Lee Watts Sr., age 73 of Mooresboro, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Atrium Health Cleveland surrounded by his family. He was born June 9, 1951 in Huntington, WV to the late Everette Watts and the late Peggy McKinney Watts. Raymond was a US Air Force veteran and was retired from the city of Shelby, NC. He was an avid car/truck person, enjoyed four wheeling and spending time with his friends and family.

Raymond is survived by his "wifey" Sarah Terry of the home, his children French "Sonny" Watts (Chris) of Mooresboro, NC, Melissa Norman (David) of Mooresboro, NC, Trisha Self (Billy) of Lattimore, NC, Carl Watts (Kim) of Mooresboro, NC, Raymond Watts Jr. (Jennifer) of Mooresboro, NC, Katherine Terry (Josh)of Mooresboro, NC, step son David Terry (Gina), siblings; Shirley Wray, Kathy Albright, Arlene Daniels (Pete) and Carl Watts (Phoebe) all of Huntington, WV, fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, ex-wife and friend Sarah Watts and a special nephew Jack Lee "Boo Boo".

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters, two granddaughters Katy and Brooke.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC. The funeral service will be Monday, February 17, 2025 at 2:00pm at Race Path Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC with Will Waters and David Norman speaking. Military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will be at the home of Carl and Kim Watts. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
