Rachel Ella Blackwood

Our Dear Mother, Rachel Ella Blackwood, sadly passed away on December 1, 2024 at the age of 86 at White Oak Manor of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

Rachel was the daughter of the late Carl Jethro Allison and Connie Steadman Allison.

She was predeceased by husbands, Thomas Earl Calvert and Gary Blackwood; siblings, Joyce Turner, Judy Turner, Lillian Bradburn, Mary Jo Moore, Betty Riddle, WIlliam Allison, Alan Allison, Jethro Allison; and granddaughter, Ashley Calvert. Left behind to cherish her memory are brothers, Floyd Allison and Lloyd Allison; four children, Carolyn Hardin (Ron), Rita Motter (Steve), Jackie Wormsley, and Timmothy Calvert (Tammy); five stepchildren, Evert Calvert, Ronnie Calvert, Donnie Calvert, Denise Blackwood, Alan Blackwood; and twelve grandchildren, David Motter, Melissa Tolliver, Kelley Motter, April Motter, Phillip Motter, Halie Wormsley, Tiffany Gay, Hunter Calvert, and Landon Calvert, Eric McClain, and Harley McClain. Twenty- one great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, along with countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.  You will be missed.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs with the Rev. Dr. David Lancaster and her brother, Rev. Lloyd Allison officiating.

The family will meet with friends after the service.
