Phyllis Hawkins Houser

Phyllis Hawkins Houser, age 77 of Cliffside, NC, passed away August 8, 2025 at Hospice of Forest city NC. Phyllis was born February 9th 1948 to Alfred Buck Hawkins and Laverne Bud Black Hawkins.

Phyllis attended Chase High School and Kings Business College. She along with her sister Alice Hawkins McGinnis ran Phyllis Houser Insurance on Broadway in Forest City for many years.

She was pre deceased by her parents, sisters Karen Hawkins Beason and Alice Hawkins McGinnis (Eddie).

Phyllis is survived by her husband R. Scott Houser of the home, daughter Michele Houser Earley and husband Jerry D. Earley of Cliffside. Two grandchildren Trey Earley (Kelsi) of Manhattan, NY and Madison Earley of Charlotte, NC. Nieces Sherry Nunnery and Kim Brown both from Lincolnton, NC. Lindsey Oglesby (Brian) of Ellenboro NC, Rachel Hinkle (Cory) Cliffside, NC.

A memorial service will be held Sunday August 10, 2025 at 3:00 pm with receiving of friends at 2:00 pm at Cliffside Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Elgin officiating. The family will gather at Phyllis' Home place which is now the home of her niece Rachel Hinkle and her husband Cory.
