Peter Makowski

Mr. Peter Makowski, age 63, loving husband of Denise Marie Mackiewicz Makowski, of Campobello, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum.

Peter was born in Montclair, New Jersey, on August 10, 1963. He was a son of the late Duke and Louise Evelyn Howard Makowski. Peter served as a police officer for 25 years with the Town of Parsippany, New Jersey. He was a devoted family man who loved people and took great pride in caring for his family. He enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, and living a rustic lifestyle. Peter also enjoyed golfing, taking care of his wife, and making memories with his family, especially spending time with his boys. He had a heart for serving others and enjoyed helping those in need, including delivering meals and making sure food did not go to waste. Peter was actively involved at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, where he served as a greeter and participated in Bible studies.

In addition to his cherished wife, Denise, Peter is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Peter Makowski and his wife Amber of Charleston, West Virginia, Eric Makowski of Japan, Dan Makowski and his wife Katelyn of Lititz, Pennsylvania, and Jesse Makowski of Spartanburg; his grandson, Jack Makowski of Charleston, West Virginia; his siblings, Lynn, Daniel, Karen, and Paul; his beloved family dog, Denali; and his mother-in-law, Louise Allen of the residence.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, followed by a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM in the Church Sanctuary, conducted by Rev. Zach Williams.
