Peggy Wheeler Mckinney

Peggy Wheeler McKinney, 74, of Jonesville, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 7, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.

Peggy was born in Union, South Carolina on January 24, 1950, a daughter of the late Sibbie Adams Tipton and Frederick Dan Wheeler. She graduated from Jonesville High School and worked for many years at B&B Mobile Homes and then later at Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Spartan Foods of America as an administrative assistant.  She was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and enjoyed serving by planting and tending to the outside flowers. Peggy was outspoken and always knew the best way to do everything. When her health allowed, you could see her walking quickly down the streets with her reflectors and special flashlights, looking for trash to pick up along the way. She enjoyed the satisfaction of cutting her lawn and knowing that every weed was taken care of and every fire ant mound properly tended to. She enjoyed keeping up with the latest on Facebook and listening to Southern Gospel music at a loud volume or tuning in to her favorite preachers on the radio.

Left to cherish her memory are, daughter, Brandy M. Gainor and husband, Gray, of London, England; sisters, Joan W. Little and husband, Allan, and Marian W. Belue and husband, Wayne, all of Jonesville; grandchildren, Sarala Elizabeth, Jackson Edward, Samuel Gray, Judson Parks and, Wintfred David Gainor all of London, England; two nieces, four nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother and father, she was predeceased by a nephew, Danny Little.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Jonesville First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Scott Cannon and her son-in-law, Rev. Gray Gainor.

Pallbearers will be her nephews; Todd Little, Mickey Belue, Shane Belue, Heath Belue, Hayden Genoble, Tanner Belue, and Michael Putnam.

A private interment will be held at Porter-Gallman Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
