Dr. Michael Foy Westbrook, 62, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Jeanne Robinson Westbrook. Born June 12, 1950 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late C.D. Westbrook and Nettie Scruggs Westbrook. Dr. Westbrook was a graduate of Chesnee High School and Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. He served as a fireman for the city of Spartanburg and worked as an assistant professor at Sherman College of Chiropractic for 25 years. A practicing Chiropractor for 31 years, he was in private practice with his oldest daughter at Westbrook Family Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. In 2005, he was elected as faculty doctor of the quarter and a recipient of the 2001 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award from University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Westbrook held memberships in W.E. C.A.R.E. Chiropractic Clinics and Research, Delta Sigma Chi Fraternity, and Masonic Lodge #143. He also served as faculty advisor of the Results Club at Sherman. He was a member and serving as Deacon at Cooley Springs Baptist Church where he taught the BL Lancaster Sunday School Class.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dr. Brandy McSwain and her husband Anthony of Boiling Springs and Kasey Johnson and her husband Daniel of Chesnee; two sons, Jared and AJ Westbrook both of Chesnee; two brothers, Terry Westbrook and his wife Faye of Inman and Julian Westbrook and wife Dorean of Chesnee; and by four grandchildren, Ethan and Aubrey Johnson, Sawyer Westbrook and Colton McSwain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kane Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Eggers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Cooley Springs Baptist Church with Rev. David DeLand. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the residence.
