Michael Alan Turner

Michael Alan Turner, affectionately known as "Mike", 61, of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024. He was born October 5, 1962 in Thomasville, North Carolina to Yvonne Cox Turner and the late Harold D. Turner.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jinny Blair; daughter Caitlin Blair Davis; brothers, Greg S. Turner and Kenneth E. Turner (Barbara); niece, Kelsey Cox (Lucas); nephew, Blake Turner; and great-niece, Harper; and great-nephews, Hudson and Gatlin.

Mike was a graduate of Dorman High School, class of 1980. He joined the US Navy the same year and was honorably discharged in 1983. He shared many stories about his time performing his duties on submarines which lead to his love of the open water.  Mike loved the ocean and scuba diving and took many trips to the beach with his family and friends.

Mike's career was marked by dedication and excellence as he worked as a Director of Manufacturing at Detroit Forming Inc. for 39 years.

You could hear his favorite 70's and 80's rock music being played throughout the house. He enjoyed playing trivia about the music and the artists.

Mike loved muscle cars and owned several high-performance cars of his own. Anyone stopping by the house could enjoy several episodes of car auctions or Motor Trend shows.

He will be missed by his faithful companions, Jessie and Tobey. Both dogs remained by his side as Mike left us. He was preceded in death by "Hooch", his devoted Chow mix.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee, SC. A Memorial Service to celebrate Mike's life will follow in the chapel at 2:00PM.  Mike will be laid to rest at the Arrowwood Baptist Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Turner family home beginning at 5:00PM, where stories will be shared and memories cherished.
