Michael Allen Johnson

Michael Allen Johnson, 76, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023.

Born in St. Paul, MN, he was the son of the late Norman Johnson and Helen Curry Johnson. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force during which he worked on helicopters. Mr. Johnson also served in the US Army National Guard as the Huey Crew Chief, US Navy Reserve as a jet mechanic, US Army Reserve working in finance, and the US Air Force Reserve as a radar tech. He did a lot of charity work, especially with Build-A-Bear. He had a huge love for his family, and he never met a stranger.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, James Elston (Tracy), Todd Elston (Wanda), Eric Johnson, Scott Johnson (Jennifer), and Adam Johnson (Cressi); three sisters, Margaret Carr, Susan Pitney, and Janet Murphy (Kevin); two brothers, Bill Johnson, and Wayne Johnson (Laurie); twelve grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Johnson's life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Belton Drake officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service.
