Melody Ann Cox

Melody Ann Cox, 80, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2023 embraced and comforted by her closest family and loved ones. Melody was born December 25, 1942 in Mooresville, NC where she married her late husband Billy Ray Cox, Sr. Melody and Billy moved to Spartanburg, SC in 1977 where they raised their three children. Melody was a treasure to all of her family and anyone who came to know her. She exuded love and gratitude that everyone around her always felt while in her presence. Melody was a woman of deep faith and known for her endless love and acceptance that she showed everyone she encountered.

She is survived by her three children, Carol Stanfield (Shawn), Billy Cox, and Crystal Torres (Nelson); her eight grandchildren, Kimberly Burnett, Ashley Underwood (Tyler), Candace Painter (Chad), Amber Painter (Demetrius), Allen Underwood (Susan), Clyde Painter (Suzanne), Kristin Taylor (Karli), Courtney McAbee (Joshua); great-grandchildren, Caleah, Coryen, Caydren, Ellie, Charli, Maci, Everlee, Greenleigh, Elijah, Allison, and Sophie; and her sister, Kim Blair.

She was preceded in death by her two precious great-grandchildren, Israel and Nehemiah and her beloved Phillip. All who lived dearly in her heart.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, April 23, 2023 in the Chapel at Eggers Funeral Home in Boiling Springs, SC to celebrate her beautiful life and the immense love she shared.
