Max Elliott Weast

Max Elliott Weast, age 77 of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at his home. He was born March 2, 1946 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Joseph Cling Weast and the late Carmel Sanders Weast. Max was a US Army veteran who loved to garden, go hiking and running and especially loved his dog Tweety. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and brother.

Max is survived by two sons; Steven Weast and Micheal Weast and his girlfriend Lynn, step daughter Allison Smith, two sisters Kay Whisnant and her husband Don and Carol Naylor, grandson Tyler Weast.

In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his step son Chris Guffey, brothers Charles and J.C. Weast, sister Donna Estep.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm Friday, May19, 2023 at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC. Military honors will be given by the Rutherford County Honor Guard at 1:00pm. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
