Maureen W Ray

Maureen "Mo" Wiley Ray, age 74, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born February 13, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Ronald Bagley Wiley and Helen Virginia Barnes Wiley. Mrs. Ray was a graduate of Dorman High School, Class of 1970, and worked for many years in healthcare administration and insurance billing. She was a member of First North Baptist Church.

Mo was a devoted and most supportive daughter, loving spouse, proud Memaw, and cherished friend. She loved her family fiercely and they were always her first priority. She was an animal lover who found great joy in caring for her pets. Over the years, she raised dachshunds and shared her home with several of them. She also cherished her fur-babies, Zoe, and Ivy, who are now lovingly cared for by the littles.

Mo was an avid reader and especially fond of books by Karen Kingsbury, she enjoyed relaxing and laying out in the sun near any body of water, camping with the best of friends, boating with her grandbabies, and spending evenings at game nights with family and friends. One of her favorite vacations was a special trip to Bermuda with the love of her life.

She was always ready for an adventure, especially shopping trips with the M.R. Sisters. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed painting, working puzzles and word searches, and watching ALL the Hallmark movies, especially Christmas movies, as Christmas was her favorite time of year. She truly lived life to the fullest and was known for her wonderful sense of humor, especially with her youngest son, Allen who she had an amazing, unbreakable bond. She was always there for others without question or judgment and was genuinely one of a kind, a generous and loving soul anyone would have been blessed to know, truly special.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Nicholas Wiley Ray (Kelley) and Allen Douglas Ray (Megan); and nine grandchildren: Rylie Ray (20), Kayleigh Ray Muston (19) and her husband, Camden Muston, Landon Fowler (15), Mason Tucker (14), Grace Ray (14), Harvey Ray (14), Carter Ray (9), Bentley Ray (8), and Mackenzie Ray (6), all of whom lovingly knew her as Memaw; and a brother, Walter "Bus" Wiley.

Maureen is now in Heaven reunited with her loving husband, Charles "Chuck" Erroll Ray, her first born son, Ronald "Ronnie" William Ray, her parents and her sister, Kathleen Sue Wiley.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
