Matthus Drew Jones

It is with great sadness the family of Matt Jones, age 37 of Mooresboro, NC, announce his passing on November 9, 2024, after a richly lived life of kindness and full of adventure. Matt was born August 31, 1987 in Cleveland County, NC to Ethan Jones and Donna Jones. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 2005. He was employed at Logical Electric. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. Matt loved spending time with his family and friends and above all, he was a proud dad. Matt was known for his big heart and optimistic outlook on life.

Matt leaves behind his two children, Ty Jones and Kole Jones. His father Ethan Jones (Lynn Slycord), his mother Donna Jones (Jeff Beheler). His partner Madison Vassey, his sister Haley Stephens (Derek Stephens), nephew Luke Stephens, grandparents Barbara Jones of Charlotte, and Vicki Dawson of Denver, and many family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Deniece Shuping and Jimmy Padgett.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC. Graveside services will be 1:00pm Friday, November 15, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellenboro, NC with Cosmo Panel officiating. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
