Matthias Oswald

Matthias Oswald, 78, of Boiling Springs, SC passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

Born in Gara, Hungary, he was a son of the late Peter Oswald, Sr. and Magdalena Harjung Oswald. He retired from R.R. Donnelley after 40 years of work. Matthias was a loving and devoted father and Opa. He loved travelling and exploring the world. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Magdalena Schmidt; and a brother, Peter Oswald, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Patrick Carrington Oswald (Bethany); sister, Rosie Lutz of Germany; brother, Jacob Oswald of Germany; two grandchildren who were the light of his world, Scarlett Oswald and Ryleigh Oswald; and a special nephew, Oliver Oswald.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1551 Bryant Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
