Matthew Brandon Mcclellan

Matthew Brandon McClellan, age 47 of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023. He was born October 23, 1976 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Wallace Franklin McClellan and Shirley Stacey McClellan, who resides in Columbus, NC. Matthew was a kind hearted soul and a friend to everyone he met. He loved to golf and go fishing with his brother Joel and close friend James Moore. Matthew will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley "Sue" McClellan, his brother Joel McClellan, his sister Stacey McClellan, nieces; Amanda, Jennifer and Amber, nephews; Andrew, Kyle, Brandon, Tyler, Austin and Michael.

In addition to his father, Matthew was preceded in death by his brother Chris McClellan.

The family will conduct their own memorial service on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 2:00pm at New Freedom Baptist Church at 2800 Chesnee Hwy Columbus, NC 28722 with Pastor Matthew Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends forty-five minutes prior to the memorial service. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside is serving the family.
