Mary Dabbs Thomas

Mrs. Mary Ruth Dabbs Thomas, age 71, wife of Ronald Dean Thomas went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House. She won a hard-fought battle with cancer and through it all her faith was evident and was what she clung to.

Mrs. Thomas was born January 21, 1953, in Lockhart, SC, a daughter of the late James "Buster" Dabbs and Ruth Ham Dabbs. Mary loved taking care of her grandchildren and referred to them as "Grandmother's babies".  She also enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains with her husband and family.

Left to cherish her memory in addition to her husband, Ron, are daughter, Jodi Arrowood Stepp, and husband, Bryan; son, Matthew Arrowood; brother, Dennis Dabbs, and wife, Sherryl; special niece, Heather Luther; a grandson raised in the home, Ryker Arrowood; grandchildren, Benjamin and Caroline Stepp, and Tinsley Arrowood; stepson, Ronald Thomas, Jr.; stepdaughter, Portia T. Braxton, and husband, Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Lori Ann Dabbs Briggs.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Chester, SC with her son-in-law, Rev. Dr. Bryan Stepp officiating.

Pallbearers will be James Dorethy, Joshua Cash, Devon Morris, Justin Dabbs, Lee Brannon, and Christopher Moorman.

The family will receive friends at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

The family is thankful to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for the outstanding care of Mary and the compassion shown to them. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Foundation, Attn: Hospice, 1692 Skylyn Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29307.

The family will be at their respective homes.
