Mary Eleanor Shields

Mary Eleanor Shields, 95, of Chesnee, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. She was born November 12, 1928 in Spartanburg to the late Dora Smith Ezell and James Winston Ezell.

Mrs. Shields is survived by daughter, Carolyn Golden; sons, Daniel Shields (Judy), Tim Shields (Mae), Randy Shields (Donna), and Todd Shields; daughter-in-law, Trish Shields; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Edward Shields, she was predeceased by a son, Lynn Shields; sisters, Hattie Ezell, Josephene Thompson, Nina Mae Moffitt, Lucille Lee, and Betty McDowell; and brothers, Hydrick Ezell, DeWitt Ezell, Dexter Ezell, and Eugene Ezell.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. The family will receive friends from 3:00PM until 4:00PM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
