Mary M. Padgett-Hall

Mary M. Padgett-Hall, 82, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina passed away, Monday, July 21,2025 at her home surrounded by family.

Mary was born on March 7, 1943, a daughter of the late Frances Christopher McDowell and James Dantzler McDowell. Mary attended Limestone College where she received a degree in Business Management. She retired from Milliken Manufacturing after twenty years, going on to work for Spartanburg County School District 2. She was a devoted staff member at Boiling Springs Middle School and Rainbow Lake Middle School for several years. Mary was a lifelong member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

She was a loving wife, mama, and grandma. Mary adored dancing with her husband, Tom, especially the Shag. She enjoyed her trips to the beach but could not wait to come home to her family and host her infamous Sunday dinners. Mary loved her family with all her heart and held everyone together.

Mary is survived by her husband, Thomas Lamar Hall; daughters, Susan Tate (Rick) and Maryann Moon (Scott); son, Tim Padgett (Sharon); stepdaughters, Jennifer Woolen (Phillip) and Heather Gurowski (Alex); sister, Joyce Wright (Dick); brothers, Billy McDowell, Terry McDowell (Cece), Johnny McDowell, and Jerry McDowell (Linda); grandchildren, Drew Padgett, Haley Bagwell (Matthew), Macy Tate, Jonathan Tate, Will Moon, and Marly Moon; step-grandchildren, Blake Woolen (Sarah), Mindy Scott (Bobby), Savannah Laney, Thomas Gurowski, Jonathan Gurowski, Brandon Gurowski, Dylan Gurowski, Matthew Gurowski, Gabriella Gurowski, Elisabeth McCarter, Aiden Bryant, and Andrew Bryant; great grandchildren, Everett Bagwell and Sawyer Bagwell; step great grandchildren, Oliver Laney, Liam Laney, Kade Scott, Julianna Scott, and Madison Woolen.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Eli Padgett; sisters, Sue McDowell and Kate Barnette; brothers, James "Bud" McDowell and Tommy McDowell; and stepdaughter, Jessica Hall.

Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Cline, Jeff McDowell, Kevin Collins, Melvin Clark, Phillip Woolen, and Rodney Padgett.

A funeral service to celebrate Mary's life will be held 2:00PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Eggers Funeral Home Boiling Springs with Chaplain Ronnie Norris officiating.

Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
