Mary Lou Hord

Mary Lou Hord, 99, of Chesnee, SC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. She was born in Spartanburg, SC on February 6, 1924 to the late Eula McKinney and Ralph M. Hord.

Mary Lou was a faithful member of Arrowood Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 55 years. She was also a member of the American Bible Society since 2001, and bought 1 to 3 Bibles every month to be donated.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, John L. Hord (Mary); sister-in-law, Kathy Hord; nephew, Johnny K. Hord (Kathleen); nieces, Renee H. Heffner (Jim), and Paula K. Hord; as well as three great nieces; one great nephew; two great-great nieces; and one great-great nephew.

In addition to her parents, Eula and Ralph Hord, she was predeceased by a brother, Paul M. Hord.

A graveside service will be held at Springhill Memorial Gardens on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11:00AM with Kathleen Hord delivering the eulogy. The family will meet with friends following the service.
