Mary-Jayne Shadden

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mary-Jayne Shadden, who entered into the presence of her Savior on Thursday, May 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 20, 1948, in Lynn, Massachusetts, she carried her strong faith and devotion to family throughout her life. She later built a fulfilling career with the Department of the Navy Civil Service in Jacksonville, Florida, where she served as an HR Administrative Assistant until her retirement. Following retirement, she moved to South Carolina, where she became a faithful member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church and lovingly volunteered in the children's ministry.

Mary-Jayne will be remembered most for her unwavering faith and her deep love for Jesus Christ. Her faith was not just spoken; it was lived daily through her kindness, generosity, and selflessness. Family was everything to her. She loved fiercely, gave freely, and always put others before herself. Her life was a reflection of the love and compassion that Christ calls us to show, and her impact will be felt for generations.

She found great joy in her family, her church, and in life's simple moments; especially time spent with her beloved grandchildren and dog, Olivia, who brought her much comfort and happiness.

She is survived by her children: Michelle Shadden Gneisig and her husband, Tom; Le Anne Shadden Clemons and her husband, John; and James Russell Shadden and his wife, Holly. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Taylor Harrelson, Jessica Cook, Hunter Gneisig, Shelby Smith, Paige Cogdill, Thatcher Shadden, Gunnar Shadden, Halley Shadden, Brooklyn Clemons and; and her great grandsons: Easton Vance, Andrew Harrelson, John Cook, and Charles Harrelson. She is also survived by her loving sisters: Katie Mastromarino, Lee Hoskins, and Thresa Halasi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Jane Iwanowicz; her brother, Rusty Iwanowicz; and her sisters, Shelley Rukas and Juliane Plank.

Her kindness touched all who knew her, and her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will live on in the many lives she so deeply impacted. While she will be greatly missed, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones, and in the presence of her Lord.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00AM in the Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Boiling Springs with the Rev. Kevin Hampton and Rev. Davon Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
