Mary Estelle Cantrell Phillippi

Mary Estelle Cantrell Phillippi, 95, a native of Boiling Springs, SC, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

She was born October 3rd, 1927 to the late John James and Mary Gowan Cantrell and was the widow of Mr. Delmos Eugene Phillippi.

Mrs. Phillippi retired from The Beacon and Mayfair Mills. She enjoyed making handmade quilts, being outside gardening and enjoying her flowers. She was always willing and looking for opportunities to help others. She was a lifelong member of Mountain View Baptist Church (View Church) on Parris Bridge Road.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Patsy P. Davis (Mike) of Hickory, NC; two grandchildren, Cynthia W. Crawley (Barry) of Morganton, NC and Sherry W. Oldham (Terry) of Conover, NC; two great-grandchildren, Shelby L. Crawley (Emily) of Morganton, NC, and Jordan W. Crawley of Morganton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald K. Phillippi; her brothers, L.J. Cantrell and Carl T. Cantrell; and sisters, Kathryn Davis, Vertie Greer and Artie Horton.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery (View Church Cemetery) with the Rev. Tyler Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the worship center at View Church.
