Mark Steven Zayas

Mark Steven Zayas, 60, of Lyman, SC, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home.

Born in Utica, NY, he was a son of the late Guadalupe Zayas and Marion Louise Lebert Bristow. Mark was the president of Southern Legends Motorcycle Club, as well as a Firefighter and EMT with Drayton Fire and Rescue, Una and Hilltop Fire Departments/Rescue 1 and Rescue 5. For the last 19 years, Mark raised money for Spartanburg Regional Hospice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chrissy Bristow.

Mark is survived by his special friend, Leah; two daughters, Kimberly Black (Thomas) and Tasha McAbee; two sons, Steven Zayas (Trish) and Joshua Zayas; three sisters, Charmayne Dentley (Kenneth), Rene Spivey (Jimmy) and Nadine Brooks (Morris); seven brothers, Joseph DeJesus (Sharon), Ramon Zayas (Jean), John Zayas (Linda), Antonio Zayas (Mitzi), Mike Zayas (Donna), Jimmy Zayas (Patricia) and Rene Zayas (Joan); fourteen grandchildren; and his best friend, Piper.

A memorial service to celebrate Mark's life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024 in the chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs with the Rev. Antonio Zayas officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
