Marjorie "Margie" Smith

Mrs. Marjorie "Margie" Smith, age 99, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Mrs. Smith was born March 19, 1925, in Green Creek, NC, a daughter of the late Noah O'Dell Cash and Eva Jane Greene Cash.  She was a member of Fingerville United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Freida Poteat and husband, Ray; grandsons, Michael Poteat, and wife, Debbie, and Clint Poteat, and wife, Carol; great -granddaughters, Carly Hamrick, and husband, Bradley, Casey Poteat, and Caylee Poteat; great-grandsons, Grant Poteat, and wife, Aubrey, Drew Poteat, and fiance, Caroline Berry, and Blake Poteat; and a great- great granddaughter, Adalee Poteat.

Margie was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert Smith; sisters, Annie Mae Turner, Dot Burns, and Alta Burrell; and brother, Bill Cash.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Boiling Springs conducted by the Rev. Eddie Ramsey. Interment will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Michael Poteat, Clint Poteat, Grant Poteat, Drew Poteat, Blake Poteat, and Bradley Hamrick.

The family will receive friends at Eggers Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday prior to the service.
