Marjorie Jean Carasetti

Marjorie Jean (Glawe) Carasetti, age 85, widow of Raymond Anthony Carasetti, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Spartanburg Regional Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born in Boston, MA on June 10, 1940, Margie (Mickey) was the daughter of the late Martin Herman and Marion Edith (Sunbury) Glawe. Although she was born in MA she spent most of her childhood in Detroit Lakes, MN until she returned to Bridgewater, MA when she was 15. She met Ray on a blind date at the Snowball Dance. They were married June 28, 1959 in South Weymouth, MA. Together, they made their home in Lakeville and raised their three children. The Carasetti family would spend time throughout the New England area at many beaches, mountains, and National Parks, or traveling to Minnesota to visit extended family.

As a young woman she worked at Lucy's Shoe Factory and King's Department Store with many other jobs along the way. Margie was hard-working, flexible, and resilient. Everything she put her hand to prospered. Ultimately, she retired as a Deli Manager at Stop n' Shop. She had many hobbies to include knitting, ceramics, and flower gardening. Her love of nature and color was reflected in her beautiful flower gardens. She also loved people and had the gift of hospitality. Her home was always open to anyone that had a desire to visit. She enjoyed volunteering at church and attending women's bible study.

Mickey and Ray both shared a wanderlust for travel and camping and spent 20 years traveling from coast to coast along with Alaska and Mexico.  They had many exciting adventures and made deep life-long friendships. She embarked on her most daring adventure when she decided to sell their home of 60 years and relocate to Boiling Springs, SC following Ray's passing in March 2023.

Margie was also a dedicated wife and mother. Her love of family went on to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered always by her children, Betty Green (Teddy), Donna Caine (Rich), and Michael Carasetti, as well as her grandsons, Jared and Joshua (Samantha) Green, and Chad and Dave (Kari) Graham, along with five great grandchildren. When we think of Mom, Grandma, Mema, and Great-Grandma, the first place we imagine her is in her happy place (being outside) laying in the sun, at the beach, sitting around a campfire, gardening, or watching the wildlife. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Margie's family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her many beloved friends and family who enriched her life, that she sincerely cherished. Also, to the many medical professionals at Mary Black Hospital ER, Medical Transport, and Spartanburg Medical Center ER.

A Celebration of Margie's life will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 2:00pm with Pastor Benny Green officiating at Northbrook Baptist Church, 1881 Boiling Springs Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29316.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. The service will be live streamed on the Northbrook Baptist Church youtube channel.
