Marion Chester Phillips

Marion Chester Phillips, 91, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Born April 11, 1935, in Forest City, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Robert Herbert Phillips and Pauline Toms Phillips.

Marion enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved gardening, meeting his friends at Bojangles for breakfast, and baking sweets each week for himself to enjoy. More than anything, he loved his grandchildren and his great grandchildren, lovingly known by him as his "great grandbabies".

He is survived by his son, Robert Phillips (Terri); his daughter, Lynne Tennyson (Jerry); granddaughters, Logan P.  Wyatt (Zack), Dylan Phillips, and Hunter Tennyson; and great-grandchildren, Barron Phillips, Luna Phillips, and Waylon Wyatt; brothers, Tommy, Roger, Clark, and Tony Phillips; and sisters, Pearl Biggerstaff and Loretta Loving.

In addition to his parents, Marion was preceded in death by wife, Patricia Agnes Phillips and a granddaughter, Jamie Lynne Tennyson.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.
