Marilyn Ann Poss

Mrs. Marilyn Ann Poss, 72, of Inman, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Born March 11, 1954, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Jerry Arnold and Gladys Aileen Higgins Cox.

Marilyn was a servant of the Lord and faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church, where she loved her church family and they loved her in return.  She loved Bible study and serving in the church's Care Ministry. She kept herself busy caring for others and was always happiest when helping those around her. She was the matriarch of her family, known for opening her home to family to celebrate all of the birthdays, Christmas, and other holidays. She also loved her flowers, gardening, and visiting Charleston, but her greatest joy was loving her family and faithfully serving Christ.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Claus Poss; daughter, Regina Childers; son, Brian Childers; sister, Jeri Chastain (Roger); brother, James Cox (Tina); grandchildren, Brandon Kreutzer (Amber), Tyler Kreutzer (Ashley), Rachel Culbreth, and Zachery Childers; great-grandchildren, Braylin Kreutzer, Tucker Kreutzer, and Houston Childers.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister, Elayne Sprouse.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 5th, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with the Rev. Ty Childers officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Quarles, Tyler Kreutzer, Brandon Kreutzer, Zachery Childers, Lee Brigman, and Marc Ezell.

The family will be at the home.
