Marilla Jean Andrews Shaw

Marilla Jean Andrews Shaw, 82, of Inman, SC, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at her home.

She was born December 13, 1940 in Farmington, PA to the late Vincent Andrews and Elnora Colegrove Andrews. Marilla was a member of Carlisle Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School and VBS over the years. Her favorite book of the Bible was Proverbs. She enjoyed cake decorating, sewing, crocheting, and painting. Marilla's family was her earthly delight. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband whom she married May 10, 1969, Richard Everett Shaw; and her sister, Darlene DeMark.

Marilla is survived by four sons, Allen Tillinghast of Enoree, SC, Jeffrey Tillinghast (Amy) of Milton, PA, William Tillinghast (Lisa) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Vincent Shaw (Steve) of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter, Darla Tillinghast Scudder (Tom) of Beaver Dams, NY; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Scudder Hungerford, Daniel Scudder, Trisha Scudder Preston, B.J. Tillinghast, Corey Tillinghast, Leah Tillinghast, and Luke Tillinghast; and twelve great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.

A funeral service to celebrate Marilla's life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 18, 2023 in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home with Dr. Bryan Stepp officiating. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
