Margaret Evelyn Rice

Margaret Evelyn Rice, age 83, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on January 15, 2025, at Spartanburg Hospice House.

Margaret was born on August 30, 1941, in Marshall, North Carolina, to the late Richard Myers and Evelyn Tweed Myers.

Margaret dedicated much of her life to making a loving home for her family. She also served her community as a beloved substitute teacher for many years. Known for her nurturing spirit, Margaret was a wonderful mother and grandmother who cherished her family deeply.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Dawn Michelle Rice; sons, Wayland Rice (Conja) and Eric Rice (Heather); sisters, Carol Drake and Mary Ruth Raynes; grandsons, James Goar, Hunter Rice, Haydon Rice, and Ashton Rice; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Myers and Evelyn Tweed Myers; and beloved husband Quincey Rice.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Egger's Funeral Home, Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 2pm with Rev Zach Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Good Shepherd Memorial Park, Boiling Springs, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends in the chapel two hours prior to the service.
