Lurayne Kofford Daniels

LuRayne Kofford Daniels, 76, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

LuRayne was Born on January 13, 1948, in Fillmore, Utah, a daughter of the late Clair LuRay Kofford and Glenna Stevens Kofford, raised in Tooele, UT, with a pioneer heritage that spans the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She was a proud alumna of Brigham Young University, where she graduated in 1971 and in 1973, LuRayne married the love of her life, beginning a journey of a lifetime. Due to her love and commitment to the education of children, she dedicated her professional life to nurturing young minds as a preschool and kindergarten teacher. Her commitment was paralleled by her deep involvement in her church where she was an active member. LuRayne held many leadership roles from Relief Society President to her personal favorite as a Primary Music Leader.

A woman of many talents and interests, LuRayne was deeply involved in music and crafts. She played the piano and organ, sang in a quartet, directed a choir, and was part of a community choir. Her passion for sewing and quilting was evident in her intricate works, including making her own wedding dress.

LuRayne's life was marked by her devotion to her faith and dedication to her family. She faced trials head on with resilience and a reliance on faith. She strived to be an example of integrity and a guiding light for her spouse and each of her children. She leaves behind a life that exemplified love that many were left feeling long after being in her presence.

Surviving are husband, Darl J. Daniels; daughters, Sarah Adams (Aaron) of Colorado, Kristin Bonacci (Matthew) of Virginia, Jennifer Sherwood (John) of Mississippi, Emallie Hagen (Tyler) of Maryland; Son, Michael Daniels of South Carolina; sister, Marie Peterson of Utah, grandchildren; Claire, Noel, and Alex Adams; Peter, Ben, Samantha, and Elizabeth Bonacci; Mathew, Ethan, Theo, and Seth Sherwood; Christopher Daniels, Virgil and Amelia Neubecker, and Brent Case.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a beloved son, Christopher Daniels and sister, Marsha Kofford.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 1:30 pm until 3:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3691 Clark Road, Boiling Springs, South Carolina.

A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm conducted by President Dale Kitchen.

Interment will be held at Tooele City Cemetery in Tooele, Utah.
