Lucy Ridings Jolley

Lucy Ridings Jolley, 84, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 27th, 2024. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Drayton Ridings and Mary Nettie Plumley Ridings. Mrs. Jolley worked many jobs throughout her life, but in her most important role she was a dedicated wife and homemaker for her husband and four boys.

Mrs. Jolley was a faithful member of Brooklyn Baptist Church for many years where she served as secretary/treasurer until her health would no longer allow her to do so. She is now in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ and reunited with her faithful husband of 67 years, Howard Eugene Jolley who predeceased her in October of 2023.

Mrs. Jolley is survived by four sons, Glenn Jolley (Tammie) of Wellford, SC, Chris Jolley (Krista) of Rutherfordton, NC, Don Jolley (Tammy) of Inman, SC & Philip Jolley (Holly) of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Homer Ridings (Judy) and Buford Ridings (Barbara) both of Green Creek, NC; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff of Holly Springs Senior Citizen Home for all the love and care they provided.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 30th, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Brooklyn Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
