Lisa Carol Abernethy

Lisa Carol Abernethy, 62, passed away in her home on June 26th, 2025 in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

On February 2nd, 1963 in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Lisa was born to the late Patrica Humphries Abernethy. Lisa graduated from Chase High School in 1981 and from Gardner Webb University in 1985 with a degree in History. Lisa went on to work at North Carolina State Grange Insurance and then served as Director of the Senior Center in Cleveland County from 2005-2012.

Lisa had a deep love for theater, history, music, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was very talented in many ways. As a devoted animal lover and self-proclaimed "cat mom," Lisa enjoyed spending time with and caring for her cats, "Mia" and "Sir Tucker."

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Mike Elgin will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Cliffside Baptist Church in Cliffside, NC. Arrangements are being made by Eggers Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lisa's life.
